The sun came out. Shannon found a trail we had never been on. Obviously we had to go.
Look at that view!
My best little Livs.
We went with the plan that we were going to hike down to the creek and cross over. Only after the winter we had the creek was definitely flowing. So we couldn't find a way across. We did find someone who told us that if you come when it's dry out instead of after all of the snow has melted the creek doesn't exist and you can just walk right across.
Since we couldn't cross there we had to come up with a new plan for exploring.
Lucky us we found this bridge. It's was so damn pretty!
Preston desperately wanted to go down and check out the water and the sandy beach on the other side of the bridge. We agreed. As long as he stayed out of the water. He was in tennis shoes and I didn't want his feet to be soaked when we still had to hike back.
That lasted all of about two seconds. Let's be real. I knew better.
The girls stayed dry throwing rocks into the water.
Meanwhile on the other side of the water with his feet wet, Preston was loving life.
My Dad made it over there too. So close to not getting his feet wet. Made it to the very last second of his jump.
Avayah wanted to go over there so bad. But none of us wanted to get wet taking her. So Preston ran over and snuck her back with him. He was so proud!
How cute are these two!
After Grandpa, Preston, and Avayah were over there Liv wanted to be too. Only I couldn't figure out how to get over there with her without having to hike back with my feet soaked. So again Preston came back and carried her over with him this time.
He's really such a good big brother. And big cousin.
The four of them over on their little island.
How gorgeous is this. The Pacific Northwest isn't so bad sometimes.
These two making their way back. Don't be fooled, two seconds after this photo Preston pretended like he was going to leave her there on this little pile of rocks in between all of us. And me and Shannon fuh-reaked out. Not cool dude. Not cool.
Once everybody was back on the same side of the creek again, we walked over to the other side of the bridge to hang out on the beach for a little bit. Per the kids request. Notice how these things are all about them. Thus is life.
Before long it was time for all of us to head back.
I am so ready for hikes to be a regular part of our weekends! Come on Spring weather, we've been waiting for you!
