Thoughts On Thursday

We had Preston's open house a couple of weeks ago. We got to see his classroom, hear about what his year looks like, and meet his teacher. We stayed after so that I could chat with her about how he's doing (great!) and she told us that he is just so awesome at math. Two weeks in and she already noticed. It's not surprising to either of us since we know he's great with math, but I love hearing that someone else has noticed!

---------------

Monday night while I ran downstairs to get Olivia her pjs, she raced around after her bath for a few minutes all naked. When I came back up she told me dirty, which is what she says when she needs her diaper changed. Then she made her way to the bathroom and I followed. Turns out she had realized she needed to pee and raced for the bathroom. She peed on the floor. But you guys! She went to the bathroom to do it! And tried to sit and pee on the stool. Looks like we're investing in a potty!

We're getting a new roof.  For real.  Our insurance came out to look at leak in Preston's bedroom and somehow we ended up getting a new roof out of the whole thing.  Cue my happy dance.  We needed one so bad and we're planning on doing it next year.  Looks like now we're doing it this year.  That is if we ever figure the whole thing out.  The company we were planning on using was totally trying to screw us.  As in when I asked them to detail out their estimate they told me I would have to pay them for that.  Umm no.  So now we're back to look around.  Let's hope we can get the whole thing figured out and fast.

---------------

Preston has been meeting me in a new spot after school.  We used to meet right outside and then walk all the way home together.  Now we meet still on school property but he gets to walk a little bit of the way on his own. I cannot believe how excited this makes him.  Seriously.  He is so proud of himself.  He greets me with a giant smile every day.  So proud that I trust him to make the walk to our meeting spot all on his own.  Makes letting him grow up just a little bit easier.

---------------

Soccer practice is back!  I mean duh, since we've been playing games.  But I haven't shared any of my photos from practice!

---------------

Olivia gets to come to practice too.  Only she has to hang out with us.

---------------

Olivia is not loving that she doesn't get to be a part of soccer practice.  Tonight I spent all of practice chasing her off the field.  While she raced after Preston carrying his water and yelling "wa-wa" at him.  I guess she was worried that he was thirsty.

---------------

I'm sure there's more.  I just can't think anymore!  Ha!
