Even Preston got in on the excitement. He loved using the cookie cutters to make shapes in the dough. I was surprised how long he lasted before he got bored. And he was so proud of his cookies. Of course by the time the cookies were ready to be decorated Preston was over the whole thing.
Mason, on the other hand, was never interested in being part of our cookie party. My sister attempted to let him join in by sticking him in the high chair seat and giving him some dough and a cookie cutter to play with, but he wanted nothing to do with it.
So it was just me and my sisters decorating the cookies. And let me tell you we were pretty awesome at it. You know, or not. First we were getting the hang of the whole thing and then we were sick of the whole thing and just wanted to be done dealing with the damn cookies. Except Shannon. You could tell which cookies were Shannon's because they looked the best. The same way that you could tell which one's were Marrissa's because they were the least edible with all their designs!
While we decorated cookies, Preston and Mason
destroyed played in the kitchen. It was a war zone. I'm not even kidding. There were toys and snacks and pieces of cookies and all sorts of other crap all over the floor.
It was a good thing I'd hosted our cookie party a couple days before I was hosting Christmas, it took that long to clean the dining room and kitchen back up!
