I did it again! Went to the midnight showing of a Twilight movie. With the same friend even!

This time we met for dinner first and harassed convinced another friend to meet up with us. Even though she completely refused to attend the movie with us. Courtney apparently has something against my Edward! Can you believe it?

Dinner included a couple of drinks for each of us. And was followed up with me convincing both Kait and Courtney that Starbucks really wasn't that far and we could totally walk for coffee. Ummm yeah, it was a lot farther than I thought. Not that we could have driven right then anyways after a couple of really strong martinis. Many many blocks later, we had our lattes and were headed back to the theatre.

Along the way I forced both friends to take more than a few photos with me. Courtney thought it was hilarious to do something silly in almost every photo, something I didn't get the full effect of until I loaded them onto my laptop today.

Kait and I settled into the theatre and waited for the show to begin after Courtney headed home. I was so excited when the previews started. I have a slight obsession with movie trailers, it's one of my favorite parts of going to the movies. I now have to see Easy A, it looks absolutely freaking hilarious! I just watched the trailer again, and I really can't wait to see this one. There were a couple other good previews and finally the show began!

I LOVED Eclipse! Seriously it was that good. Sooooo much better than New Moon was. You might remember I was pretty disappointed after that one. If you don't, Kait definitely does because she had to ride home with me that night and I bitched the whole way about how they'd ruined it. This one was completely different. They did a really good job of sticking to the story and not going overboard. Plus they played down the pastiness of Edward which made him look so much better. It was just a million times better! Although this time I didn't reread the books before going, so maybe that helped. Either way it was good!

I am dying to see it again!

Dirt, Dirt, And More DIRT!

We got started in a big way on our backyard this weekend. And by we I feel like I should clarify that Brad, Tammy, Dave, and Preston got started on the yard this weekend.

We They moved one side of our fence first. It moved forward to open up some space in the back and remove some hidden space in the front yard.

From there it got serious. Brad spent two days tilling up our ENTIRE backyard. My brother came over on Friday and helped him out for a couple of hours. Thank goodness because after doing it all day on Thursday (he had the day off) Brad's hands were hurting!

When the tilling was all said and done, it still wasn't done enough. It dirt was hard and needed something with a little more force. So they brought in a tractor! Preston couldn't have been more excited!

When the tractor left, we were left with this...

Not to be confused with how it looked when we moved in...

I did add a little pretty to the deck this weekend though. Something to help me deal with the next couple weeks or disaster!

I won't have any photos of what it'll look like when it's all said and done for a couple weeks but you can bet I will share them as soon as it's done! I'm that excited!

I Should Be Sleeping....

I am tired. Really tired. Right this second.

But guess what? I'm also really excited!

We have been in the middle of some serious projects around these parts. I say in the middle because so far in true Kim and Brad fashion we haven't finished any of them yet.

And I spent the entire day at a huge 3 on 3 basketball tournament today. Looks like it's time to get serious around here. Something needs to get finished!

It's My Birthday!!

You know what's great about birthdays? Besides the presents and all the free stuff that places send you. Seriously I got a lot of free stuff. If it wasn't a free dessert here or a $10 gift card there it was some sort of a discount just because it's my birthday month. It's enough to make me want it to be my birthday month every month!

But seriously, what's great about my birthday?

Everyone. All of those family and friends; in real life, on my blog, from my past, from the right now. All of them. EVERYONE has made a point to make sure that at some point today I know they were thinking about me. I have received phone calls, text messages, facebook wall posts, and birthday ecards.

I feel special. Very special because of all of these amazing people in my life.

As for my day. I spent the afternoon at Chuck E Cheese with a couple of friends and Preston. I enjoyed myself and Preston enjoyed himself. It was win-win. From there we ran a couple of errands and arrived home at the same time as Brad. Brad and Preston then snuck outside so that Preston could sign my birthday card. I can't remember if I've said it before or not but I LOVE cards. They are a lot of the time my favorite part of a gift! My actual gift from Brad and Preston will be coming later this summer, so I'm excited that I get to extend my birthday a little bit! My Mom then stopped by to drop my (made me want to cry) birthday card off and gift off. I'd planned on having my birthday lunch with my Mom, but that changed because my parent's entire house is sick right now so we're in full avoidance of them and their germs and rescheduled celebrating my birthday with my family for later this week. We ended the night with Brad meeting and fixing a leaking dishwasher for one of the neighbor's that we've never met and an easy dinner. I think I would call this birthday a success!

Both Preston and I might be coming down with something which sucks but at least it didn't rear it's head until the end of the day!

Happy Father's Day!

To my husband and Preston's Daddy!

We started the day by going out to breakfast with the whole family and are going to finish it by lazing around. In the midst of all our projects around the house it is a nice day for a break!

Brad is also getting a new tool box and chest for the garage when it comes in stock!

And Happy Father's Day to my Dad! Who has been an amazing parent not only when I was growing up but still is even now when I am all grown up.

I've also just realized that I need to start taking more pictures of ALL of us and not just Preston with everyone. I couldn't even find a recent photo of me and my Dad! But I obviously did find this one of him and Preston taken last week! lol

We have a lot on our plate this summer. A LOT! We're going a little crazy with changes around the house. And that's not even mentioning the yard work we're about to embark on! Want to hear a more detailed explanation?

I knew you would! Ha!

I'll start with what we've gotten done so far. It's the small list, or course.
-Replace fixtures in downstairs bathroom. (Towel bars, toilet paper holder, robe hook, etc.)
-Paint downstairs bathroom.
-Paint living room. We've actually only accomplished half of this. I'm waiting to do the second half next week. But what he have painted so far is pure love.

Now here's what we still have to accomplish this summer. Ready? Deep breath, here we go.
-Finish painting the living room.
-Replace the trim in the living room.
-Find tile for the kitchen and put it up.
-Replace the floor and trim in the entryway.
-Paint the playroom.
-Replace the trim in the playroom.
-Order and have new carpet installed in the playroom.
-Move the playroom upstairs into our gigantic master bedroom.
-Move our bedroom into our slightly larger than the average bedroom playroom. (I'll explain more on this later, I swear we do have reasons for doing this.)
-Replace Preston's bedroom window.
-Empty out, clean, and refill the pool.
-Till the backyard all up.
-Put in a sprinkler system in the front and backyard.
-Set up a mow line/flower beds in our backyard.
-Create a sectioned off play area for Preston's swing sets in the backyard.
-Lay sod in the backyard.

WHEW! I think that's it? It's not like we have a lot going on or anything right? Summer hasn't even started yet (because my birthday marks the official start of summer next week!) and I feel like summer is already completely taken over by our to do list! I guess we'll we able to enjoy the second half, as all of this has an estimated done date of the middle of July.

Think we can do it? Any suggestions for time savers?

Another Project

I still have to hang a towel bar in our downstairs bathroom, err Brad still needs to hang a towel bar in our downstairs bathroom, and put the final towels up and then I will be ready to take and share pictures. I think the color has fought it's way to the top of my favorites in our house. Just like that! It only comes in right behind our dining room's color.

As a result of seeing new color in our house, I decided to get started on repainting our living room. I've been talking about doing it for a month or so now but was simply dreading it. Today I got started. We picked colors out the weekend before last and I finally went down and bought a gallon. Now two of the walls in our living are merlot. And a fabulous merlot at that!

I still have what seems like a million more walls to paint in this house before I am done with this spurt, but we've gotten started! I say we because Brad has been named the official wall painter of our house after seeing how horrible I was at it today and how much better he was at it! I get to tape off and paint the trim while he does the walls. Sadly enough I'm pretty sure my task will take longer than his.

Chuck E Cheese Bathroom Break

We spent a majority of Sunday at Chuck E Cheese. Not because we like Chuck E Cheese, although don't get me wrong we do!, but because we had two birthday parties there within two hours of each other.

The first for my cousin, Tristan, was at 1pm. The second for Brad's cousins, Ronni and Charli, at 3pm. That means we spent from 1:30pm (we were late, big shocker there!) Sunday afternoon until 6pm Sunday evening at Chuck E Cheese!

The most exciting part of being there of course happened not too long after we'd arrived.

I realized that I hadn't seen Preston in a couple of minutes and went off in search of him. Typically he checks in from time to time while we are there. He needs more tokens. Or help with a game. Or he's thirsty. He may have won tickets. I hear him laughing. Or I simply stand up on top of my seat and see if I can see him. Those kinds of check ins.

He was no where to be found.

Even though I realized that he really shouldn't be able to leave Chuck E Cheese without me and there are a million places he could have been hiding, I started to freak out. I headed over to Brad to ask him for help when I ran into Preston. Preston walking out of the hallway that leads to the bathroom. No wonder I couldn't find him, he wasn't even on the playroom floor! I informed him that we don't play in the bathrooms by ourselves and we headed over to sing happy birthday to the birthday boy.

While standing behind him and singing I went to pull his shorts up and came to notice that my child was no longer wearing his diaper. When I asked him where it went I was informed that he'd gone pee-pee in the potty and that's where his diaper was.

We made a beeline to the bathroom where Brad took the men's room and I took the women's room in search of Preston's diaper.

I found it first. Discarded on the bathroom counter. When I asked Preston if he'd used the potty he once again told me he had and showed me which stall he'd used. Not that it would have been hard to find, the toilets were a little tall so most of his pee was actually on the seat. Or more accurately all over the seat.

We cleaned it up, put a diaper back on, washed our hands, talked about telling Mommy next time, and headed back out to play.

Only I also did a happy dance because Preston not only knew that he had to go potty but he also took it upon himself to head to the bathrooms to do so WHILE HE WAS WEARING A DIAPER AND PLAYING AT CHUCK E CHEESE! I may not be able to put this whole potty training thing off much longer.

*A special thank you to Preston's friend Zack who has renewed Preston's interest in potty training recently. I'm sure that Preston using the bathroom on his own at Chuck E Cheese has something to do with Zack being able to do it when we were there on Thursday. And yes, we were also at Chuck E Cheese on Thursday. What can I say we're Chuck E Cheese fanatics.

A Bathroom Change

We've been painting! The downstairs bathroom that is. I finally got sick of looking at it and decided to do something about how blah it was. I'm hoping to finish putting everything together and back up this weekend so I can share our new and improved bathroom with you all!

Meet Caillou, Da-La, Doggy

We stopped into a Build A Bear somewhat recently and decided to do just that, build a bear.

Or more accurately a dog. Out of all of the stuffed animals they had Preston chose a dog. And really not even that cute of a dog. But once he'd decided, he'd decided. I couldn't sway him. Not to the adorable monkey. Or the cute and scary dragon. Not even to the gray kitty. He just wanted the doggy.

What Preston wants, Preston gets. Well for the most part. What can I say he's one spoiled little boy. And I don't just mean on my end. I mean all around. My his Nee-Maw and Grandpa who buy him gifts practically every time they go into a store. By his Gigi who has a basketball hoop in her backyard just for him and who just ordered a jump house for her house because Preston loves them. By his Aunties, who seem to always have a little something for him. He's just a spoiled little boy. A very LOVED and spoiled little boy.

Back to Build A Bear.

We got down to building a bear. When it's time to stuff the bear dog, they have this whole routine that they go through. You give your animal's heart a kiss and a hug for love. You rub it on your belly so your animal won't be hungry. You touch it to your nose so your animal will know your scent. Then you pat it to get it's heart beating. You do some other things that I can't remember now. And in the heart goes. It's cute and Preston loved it.

Once your bear doggy has a heart, it's time to stuff it! Preston had a lot of fun with this one. We'd watched other kids filling up their animals before it was our turn and Preston was just itching to get up there.

Of course after our doggy was stuffed, he definitely needed a shower. It's kind of like how after a hair cut you rinse all the loose hairs off. Doggy needed to rinse all of the extra fluff off. I practically had to drag Preston away from the shower.

But it had to be done. Doggy needed to pick out an outfit and he needed a birth certificate.

We picked out a fabulous outfit. I'm not kidding. It was awesome. I only wish I could have gotten Preston a matching one. How adorable would that have been!?

Preston decided to name his doggy, Caillou. It couldn't possibly be from the little boy on one of his favorite TV shows? Oh yes, I do believe so.

Caillou quickly made his way into Preston's heart. For a day or so. Now he just has a spot in his room that warms a dresser. He was fun while he lasted.

Memorial Day

Better late than never right? That's my motto in life! As evidenced by the fact that I am late to just about everything.

We spent Memorial weekend in Coulee City hanging out with Brad's sisters. Memorial weekend in Coulee City is almost a tradition among Brad's family. It's a small town and the rodeo rolls into town, which is why Memorial weekend is such a big deal in Coulee.

Being that I've NEVER been to a rodeo, I wasn't really all that sure what to expect. And I had a lot of silly questions. Such as what to wear. What shoes to bring. What exactly happens during a rodeo.

Rodeo weekend starts out with a parade. Preston wasn't so sure about what was going on at first. He wasn't even interested in the candy. Until he realized that it was uh candy. Candy is quite possibly the way to Preston's heart. Then he was all over the parade. Particularly when Aunt Caelan and friends threw loads of candy his way! Once he got over the shock of having a bunch of teenage girls throwing candy at him that is.

After collecting our candy, we headed over to Great Grandma Geneva's to visit. She has a dog and Preston was beyond excited. Especially when he got a change to take the dog for a walk on a leash. And drag it through the doggy door. Let's just say that poor dog didn't leave Geneva's lap and attempted to avoid Preston after that. Preston was so busy he didn't notice much. Busy collecting all of Great Grandma Geneva's candy from around the house. My little thief! Luckily he was just collecting it not eating it.

The rodeo started in the afternoon, so from Geneva's we headed to the rodeo. Preston was cranky. I think he was sick of being moved from place to place just as he was starting to get comfortable. Fortunately we were able to get some rodeo food. Rodeo food I have learned is right up there with fair's GOOD! YUM! Preston insisted that he needed a snow cone and we only had to wait a lifetime and a half for it. But he seemed to think it was worth it, for all of one minute and then he moved on.

The rodeo was actually much more slower paced than I'd expected. I don't know why. I'd just assumed that it would be back to back action. There were a lot of lulls. Preston was about as interested in the rodeo as he was in his snow cone. It was cool for a minute and then we was ready to explore. Although he did seem to enjoy the bull riding.

My little man seemed to have some understanding of what it was that we were celebrating. When Brad took him over to a little stand to pick something out, they came back with a flag. Of all the things Preston could have picked he wanted a flag! My patriotic little boy!

We finished our day off at Great Grandpa and Grandma Pitts's house. Preston was so excited. He loves going out to the farm. I can't ever imagine why, can you? Ha!

Yes, that is my child. Jumping in rain puddles. He was having such a blast that I just couldn't get myself to stop him. Instead we just stripped him down before we headed back to Caelans.

We finished off our second night hanging out with Brad's little sister Caelan. Bbqing and watching some tv. And I tried my hand at french braiding. It was a little pathetic. It's a good thing I have some time to learn before we want to try for another baby! Looks like I'll be practicing on that niece of mine, so here's hoping she has hair! And lots of it!

Speaking of my niece, she moved for me! It could have had something to do with a few threats that I made. I know it's not nice threatening a fetus but I really wanted to feel her move! And it's not like I would seriously stop buying things for her! And it is possible that she has a name. A first name at least. Her middle name is still in discussion. Ready for it? Madison! I love it. I'm so excited she has a name now and I have something to call her. And I completely forgot to take a picture of Jen's belly while we were all in Coulee, so I have no photo of that one for you. Looks like I'll have to request one! Am I the only person who is slightly obsessed with baby bellys?

Of course our weekend ended, as evidenced by the fact that we came home. And spent all of Sunday doing all of nothing. Somehow we were just exhausted. I guess the rodeo and visiting a ton of family in a weekend can have that effect on you! Luckily it was a good kind of tired!
