Christmas Cards

It's Christmas card time! I both dread it and look forward to it every year. I love sending out Christmas cards and receiving them. All these Christmas cards arriving makes checking the mail so much more exciting!

I dread taking that perfect picture. The one that will grace our card. We've got to send a great photo with our bright and shiny faces to wish all our friends and family a very Merry Christmas! Made even more difficult by the two people that are supposed to grace our card with me. Preston is two and unwilling to sit still for very long. Brad just couldn't care less about our Christmas card photo. MEN! That leaves me. Solely responsible for making sure that you all receive a smile from us before Christmas.

Our first few tries, well they really weren't all that successful. Either Preston wouldn't smile or we were all laughing or Preston was moving around in the photo.

I became desperate. I pulled out the big guns. I bribed both of them. I told Brad that if we could just take ONE good photo, he could go back to what he was doing and stop posing for me. Preston was a little more difficult. I had to bribe him with both Skittles and a trip downstairs to the Spooky Room (aka my brother's closet).

It worked! Our next photo was this one...

Not to shabby. It only took some serious begging and pleading on my part. But it's done! The best part? We don't have to do it again for a whole 'nother year! Now I just have to pick them up, address them, and put them in the mail. You know, before Christmas.

Well, the final result was very worth it. I totally would have made my card with all of those just to show everyone receiving one the hard work I put in to supply the dang card!

Visiting from Sits! Hope you feel better. I'm on the end of a stomach flu. Blah.

I gave up. I'm not sending out cards this year. It'll be my first year since getting married, but I'm using too many small children as an excuse. I just can't get it all done in time. Good work on yours!

Well done on talking the boys into doing what you want! The photo looks great!

Good luck on actually getting them out! I usually get to the point when the pic is taken and ordered, and then they sit around and I don't do anything with them. I actually used last years card this year!

Good work Kim. The mommy/wife always gets stuck with the chore of getting a good Christmas picture, but it's worth it. :)

Those photos drive me nuts every year! And sadly, it doesn't get any easier as my kids get older. Yours is great!
